A number of Croatia's national parks are among the most breathtaking in all of Europe, and the greatest thing is that they are located along the coast. There are a number of them that may be reached directly by boat. While I was traveling along the Adriatic, I was awestruck by the breathtaking beauty of these parks, each of which offered something that was distinct from the others. There is something for every type of sailor to enjoy in these parks, whether it is stunning cliffs, lush forests, or secluded beaches. From my own personal experience, I have compiled a list of the top five national parks that you can visit throughout your sailing adventure.

A National Park Named Kornati

When it comes to sailing, the Kornati Islands are like a dream come true. This national park is home to more than 140 islands, islets, and reefs, and it has a raw beauty that is almost unearthly in its appearance. In my memory, I was anchored in a tranquil cove that was flanked by imposing limestone cliffs and waters that were completely transparent. Unrivaled tranquility may be found here. The Kornati are also a paradise for anyone who enjoy snorkeling and diving because they feature a variety of thriving habitats that can be explored underwater. National Park Kornati Croatia

The National Park of Mljet

In the event that you are searching for tranquility and verdant surroundings, Mljet is the spot to be. Two saltwater lakes, Veliko and Malo Jezero, serve as the focal point of this park. Both of these lakes are ideal for swimming and kayaking. Taking a swim in the warm, green waters of the lakes while I was riding my bike around them is one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Don't pass up the opportunity to see the Benedictine monastery on St. Mary's Island, which is a breathtaking historical site nestled in the midst of nature.

The National Park of Krka

It is possible to sail up the Krka River in order to reach Krka, despite the fact that it is not exactly on the coast. In addition to the breathtaking scenery along the riverbanks, the journey itself is an exciting aspect of the expedition. Especially the Skradinski Buk waterfall, which is an amazing show-stopper, the park is well-known for its falls that cascade down the mountainside. This place was where I spent the entirety of my afternoon, swimming in the pools and taking in the breathtaking scenery of the waterfalls.

The National Park of Brijuni!

Brijuni is a truly one-of-a-kind combination of history and nature that merges the two. Ancient Roman remains, a safari park, and beaches that are untouched by human hands can all be found on this archipelago. When we were sailing here, it felt like we had entered a different universe. The island of Veliki Brijun, where you can view anything from dinosaur footprints to the remains of a Byzantine stronghold, was one of the places that I visited and found to be quite enjoyable.

The Nature Park of the Lastovo Archipelago

There is a hidden gem in Lastovo for those individuals who want for privacy. This distant park is comprised of 44 islands and islets, each of which offers a natural beauty that has not been altered. We were fortunate enough to observe one of the most breathtakingly beautiful celestial nights I have ever witnessed when we anchored in a peaceful harbor one evening. It is also a wonderful place to go trekking, as there are trails that lead you through verdant forests and up to vantage spots that offer breathtaking views.

The national parks of Croatia are a living testimony to the extraordinary natural diversity that exists within the country. The stark beauty of the Kornati and the lush peacefulness of Mljet are only two examples of the different kinds of experiences that may be had in each park. Through sailing, you will have the ability to easily explore these breathtaking spots, which will make your journey even more memorable. You can put your faith in me when I say that these parks are priceless.
